Wondering how much your move to Sweden will cost? 💸
Hej hej Reader,
When we were planning our move to Sweden, these were two of our big questions:
- How much is this move actually going to cost us?
- What’s the easiest and cheapest way to transfer our savings?
If you’re planning a move, I’m guessing you’ve asked yourself the same questions.
The truth is, moving countries isn’t just a big emotional decision - it’s also a huge financial one. The costs can add up quickly between flights, visa fees, deposits, and setting up a new home.
To help with the first question - what’s this move going to cost? - I’ve created a simple budget template for Google Sheets that can get you started mapping out your costs, as well as tracking your savings (time to get on Marketplace and make some extra cash!).

Now, for the second question - how do we transfer our savings?
We researched a lot of options, and one of the easiest and cheapest solutions we found was Wise*. Unlike traditional banks, Wise keeps fees low and offers really competitive exchange rates. We used it to transfer our savings, and it saved us so much money compared to other options.
If you’re in the process of planning your move and need to transfer money, I highly recommend checking it out here:

Planning a move to Sweden is no small task, but tools like these can make it a little easier (and a lot less stressful).
I’d love to know - what’s been the biggest challenge or question you’ve faced while planning your move? Hit reply and let me know!
Kindly,
Linn
